Weekly Sweep Schedule¶
Our geographic sweep runs every Sunday at 2:00 AM via automated task. Each sweep:
- Searches all 50 states + 5 territories for new ICE/CBP incidents
- Categorizes by priority (P1 deaths, P2 violence, P3 operations)
- Identifies geographic clusters and emerging patterns
- Queues new incidents for full investigation
- Updates the violence tracker

Pattern Detection¶
Our sweep methodology includes automated pattern detection:
- Geographic clustering: 2+ deaths in same state triggers alert
- Temporal clustering: 3+ violent incidents in same region within 7 days
- Territory incidents: Any incident in territories triggers immediate investigation (historically under-reported)
- New facilities: Deaths at facilities not previously in our database
- Repeat offenders: Facilities with multiple deaths in rolling 90-day window
